This workshop will introduce you to the power of storytelling through design and introduce you to the fascinating production side of theatre and storytelling, giving you inspiration and experiential knowledge to share how design elements can enhance or even be the “star” of your stories. 

About Andre:

André du Toit is a designer for live performance based in Toronto. His designs have been seen across Canada and beyond, receiving five Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Lighting Design. Recent lighting designs include: speaking of sneaking (Buddies in Bad Times); Maanomaa, My Brother (Blue Bird/Canadian Stage); The Queen in Me(COC/Amplified Opera/Nightwood Theatre Gargantua); Prince Hamlet, What You Won’t Do For Love (Why Not Theatre); R+J (Stratford Festival of Canada) Now You See Her, Mouthpiece (Quote Unquote Collective); Italian Mime Suicide, Paolozzapedia (Bad New Days). Set designs include, Here Lies Henry (Factory Theatre); Monstrous Invisible, Just Us (Theatre Aquarius); Tomasso’s Party (Rooftop Creations).
