Ayo Adewumi is a Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker, curator, and cultural advocate working across
theatre, film, and television. As an actor, director, and producer, he has built a body of work grounded in storytelling that explores history, identity, and lived experience. His films have screened internationally, earned multiple awards, and are used as teaching materials in some Canadian universities. Ayo has also taught and lectured at some universities and colleges in Canada.
For Scratch Night, he will present excerpts from his new play currently in development which reflects on the issue of cultural adaptation.
