It’s 2013. A trio of pick-up artists who skip the nightclubs in favour of direct flirtation in broad daylight become the subject of a documentary fimmakers’s obsessive gaze, and everyone is earwigs.

Step into our screening room/earwig pavilion for 7 minutes as we ask, “What did we actually learn about human dating and erotic behaviour from the internet in the 2010’s?”

A mixed live action/animated short.

This is a 7 minute show for a limited number of people and will be running before and between all festival acts. 

Lester Trips (Theatre) are Lauren Gillis and Alaine Hutton, a performing/writing/directing/designing duo with a decade of shared training in physical performance and making people uncomfortable. We create questionably comedic theatre, film, and “digital not otherwise specified”, often revolving around the internet ruining our brains, distorting our sexualities, and how we all can’t stop looking at it.

Previous works include the speculative fiction/cringe comedy series Content Farm (CBC Gem), and body horror mystery Honey I’m Home (Factory Theatre, 2024). Next up, an autosadistic trip through content moderation hell, Public Consumption previewing at Summerworks this August, premiering at Factory Theatre in November.
