Presented as part of Suitcase in Point's Nest Artist Residency, join Yolanda Bonnell for a two-hour workshop that centres the performers/artists as investigators, creators/writers of their own work and destiny.
“Participants will have the opportunity to learn a variety of storytelling and creation techniques including working with land-based techniques, poetry and the heartbeat of stories.
Students will be asked to engage in discussions around land memory, stories from their past and what inspires them. They will also be asked to use their creation skills utilizing a variety of prompts. Sharing is encouraged, but not mandatory. While it is focused on writing, students may use whatever creation technique is most comfortable for them; drawing, movement etc. The workshop is meant to expand their creation techniques and skills and help them to recognize their own creative potential”
