Tethered the Ghost

What haunts you? When you don’t see the person that you needed when you were younger. When you don’t see yourself belonging with the rest of the crowd. When you look at the generations of stories behind you and see that not much has changed.

Tethered the Ghost is participating in the Nest Residency because they want to shed light on representation for women of colour. They aim to explore the liminal phase in which they find themselves as first- and second- generation immigrants in St. Catharines. By using the issues they have experienced first-hand as inspiration, they hope to celebrate the culture of being Filipino- Canadians and speak of their roots and ancestry without exoticizing or sensationalizing them.
