Rebecca worked in the professional Toronto theatre community in theatre production, management and research before arriving in Niagara in 2000. She established the first Cultural Services Office in Niagara for the City of St. Catharines, which is responsible for cultural investment and community development, public art and cultural planning. She led the advance research and subsequent development of a feasibility study for a cultural and academic centre in St. Catharines, which concluded with a $54 million 3-government investment and the 2015 opening of the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Rebecca has been a member of the Creative City Network of Canada since 2001 and served on the Board as Treasurer. She has received three awards from the St. Catharines arts community in recognition of her contributions to the sector. She currently teaches arts management and cultural policy at Brock University and is a lead consultant with Janis A. Barlow and Associates.
