THE ADHD PROJECT is a one-woman storytelling exploration. Real-life stories told by the person living them, along with added experiences of individuals with ADHD from 1980-2017. Although the subject is important, the stories are fun and are full of humour and hope.
Carlyn Rhamey is an ADHD advocate and hopes this show will promote more acceptance and inclusion for individuals with ADHD and more compassion for invisible mental illnesses and disorders. This will be the first performance workshop of THE ADHD PROJECT and Rhamey’s second one-woman storytelling show. Her first show, SAOR, toured across Ontario and Quebec on the Fringe Festival circuit in 2016, earning critical and audience acclaim and winning Best of Venue at the Hamilton Fringe Festival.
ADHD has been a strong theme in all of Rhamey’s work and storytelling. She has shared her diagnosis story at Confabulation, a storytelling event in Toronto and at the 2012 London Fringe Festival show In Their Shoes. She has also written about the difficultly of ADHD and relationships in SAOR. Rhamey has been piecing together THE ADHD PROJECT for a long time.
